Terms of Service

By using Product Decoded (“the app”) you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 16 to use the app. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information.

2. The service

The app lets you scan packaged products and shows label-based information and a 1–8 score, with optional premium features. Product data comes partly from Open Food Facts and may be incomplete or inaccurate; we don't guarantee it.

3. Not medical advice

The score and information are for general guidance only and are not medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Always read the actual product label and consult a qualified professional for health decisions, allergies, or medical conditions. You rely on the app at your own risk.

4. Subscriptions & payments

Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly/annual) sold through the Apple App Store / Google Play. Payment is charged to your store account.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store / Play account settings.
Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
Refunds are handled by the store under its policies; we generally can't issue them directly.
Prices may change; we'll give notice as required and changes won't apply to the current paid period.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the app: no unlawful use, no attempts to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service, and no submitting false or infringing content. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. User submissions

If you submit products, photos, or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it to operate and improve the service. You confirm you have the right to share it.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and content (excluding third-party data such as Open Food Facts, which has its own licence) are owned by us or our licensors.

8. Disclaimers & liability

The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions made based on the app's information. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including your statutory consumer rights in the EU/Spain).

9. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account anytime (Settings → Delete account). We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Spain, where permitted.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
